I absolutely hate
Being in an unwinnable situation.
For instance:
When someone does something to you that makes you agitated, you try to address the problem to the other person but instead of hearing an apology, you are confronted with a shitload of rude and unnecessary words. Now you are confused, why would someone throw so much anger at you when you were the one that was initially angry?!? You of course defend yourself, and it goes back and forth until you choose to just walk away.
You want to fix the situation… somehow… but why should you take that responsibility? because you know that all the other person is doing is just making the situation unbearably worse? because you are the better person? or because you just think the situation is stupid and you -knowing that it is stupid- want to fix it? and How come the other person does not bother to calm down after getting so defensive and think about why you were agitated in the first place?
Here is where you fight with yourself.
You are hurt by the words said to you, (you know none of it was meant, but you heard them at such a bad time…) It angers you. You are in a fight for your dignity…
Now you think,
Is this person WORTH my time and understanding of such a moronic situation? (and if he/she is…) you rethink the situation. You confuse yourself even more… What could have triggered such an unpleasant encounter?
Here is where you are forced to calm down and to confront the other person (even if the other person is not calmed…)
and after so much Acrimony, you find out the reason why it started…
Was Everything that happened really necessary? Of course not. If both persons were willing to examine and fix the situation, none of the bitter words would have been exchanged (or just heard…ugh).
